Ottobre 2021
Today we are talking about this issue with Mariafiore Maggiordomo, Managing Director of Jolly Caffè Spa.
What do you love most about your profession in the world of espresso?
The possibility that this work of continuous growth gives you, and to get to know many people. The world of agri-food is varied and constantly changing, because the ingredients, the supply chain, the varieties change with the changing seasons and harvests. You can never take anything for granted and, in the hands of different people, the same coffees reflect the aromas in a different way and always give surprising nuances, just like people.
How do you think espresso culture can be developed more effectively?
The point of arrival is always the constancy in the sensory profile. This does not, however, preclude the thousand nuances that can be discovered and appreciated. Coffee culture means allowing more and more people to deepen the many characteristics of the drink obtained with blends and savor the different aromatic notes to instill in them curiosity, affection and enthusiasm.
Do you think the world of coffee values women enough?
The world of coffee reflects the culture and tendencies of a more general society, which is not properly permeated with modernity and openness, and it’s not just in Italy. However, the situation has improved a lot and is constantly evolving.
